Entrepreneur Background
Sreeshankar Sreenivasan Nair (Co-founder & CEO) is the technology and product lead — the primary architect of WeSTOCK's IoT hardware and ML algorithm. Romeo and Sreeshankar were bitten by the entrepreneurial bug during their first year of engineering at Toch Institute of Science and Technology in Kochi. After college, they decided to work in a corporate firm to understand the business and collect enough capital before starting their own venture. Romeo P. Jerard (Co-founder & COO) manages administration, finance, and operations. Romeo P Jerard is currently responsible for overseeing the administration and finance at Brainwired and managing the company's affairs. He previously interned as a communication engineer at ITI. His experience includes managing people, building teams, organising events, and problem-solving.
The Product / Service
WeSTOCK is a comprehensive IoT-and-AI-powered livestock health monitoring and tracking system — comprising a smart ear tag attached to each animal, a Base device that aggregates data from multiple tags, a cloud processing layer with proprietary ML algorithms that analyse animal behaviour patterns, and a mobile app that delivers real-time health alerts, pregnancy detection notifications, and veterinary consultation access to dairy farmers — solving four critical problems that collectively cost India's dairy industry billions of rupees annually in preventable animal deaths, undetected pregnancies, and avoidable veterinary costs.
The Ask
Amount Asked: ₹50 lakhs Equity Offered: 5% Implied Pre-Money Valuation: ₹10 crore
Pitch Presentation
WeSTOCK's pitch was the second of Episode 19 — arriving after Ethik's no-deal on the very smallest ask of Season 1 (₹15 lakhs) with one of Season 1's most technically complex and socially impactful products: a device designed for grandparent-level farmers who would need to use it in fields, with AI and ML running in the cloud behind a simple mobile notification. Westock is an IoT device that is plugged into a cow's ear. Westock monitors the health and reproductive cycle of the cattle and also displays the daily result on the related application. Westock is made with the help of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Westock also assigns a doctor to each farmer so they can take care and get advice at the right time. Westock also measures weather with the help of the Westock reader device. The pitch demonstration — showing the ear tag, explaining how it communicates with the Base device, showing the mobile app with real-time health status and alerts — made the technology tangible.
Sharks' Reactions & Criticism
Anupam Mittal was the only Shark to exit — and for the most commercially honest reason. Anupam went out because he had already invested in a cattle company. Peyush Bansal was the first remaining Shark to commit to an offer. Peyush said that he was the closest to Artificial Intelligence so he would like to give them an offer. Namita Thapar joined the offer coalition immediately. Her Emcure Pharmaceuticals background — serving rural and semi-urban India with healthcare products — gave her direct understanding of last-mile distribution to farmers, which is WeSTOCK's most significant scale challenge. Aman Gupta joined, bringing his digital marketing and brand-building expertise — critical for a product that needs farmer awareness and trust before adoption. Ashneer Grover joined and ultimately negotiated on behalf of the coalition restructuring the final offer from 9% to 10% equity, and from ₹50 lakhs to ₹60 lakhs, in a deal that gave the founders more capital than they had asked.
Negotiation & Offers
Peyush said that he was the closest to Artificial Intelligence so he would like to give them an offer. Namita said that she, Ashneer, and Aman would also like to give an offer. Peyush asked to join the deal. A pack of 4 Sharks with expertise in four different segments gave an offer of ₹50 lakhs for 9% equity. Romeo countered it for ₹75 lakhs for 10% equity. Ashneer changed the deal on behalf of the other 3 Sharks at ₹60 lakhs for 10% equity. Brainwired accepted the deal.
