In his spare time, Rohit enjoys reading, listening to music, sky diving and golf. Shark Tank Talks Rohit Warrier's background in hospitality fueled his desire to create a more hygienic drinking experience. The idea came to Rohit after observing people in restaurants and hotels frequently wiping glass rims with tissues before drinking. His background in hospitality fueled his desire to create a more hygienic drinking experience, leading to the creation of the Sippline in 2016, although it wasn't launched until 2020 due to timing considerations.

The Product / Service

Sippline Drinking Shield is India's first personalised oral drinking hygiene product — a sterilised, reusable, medical-grade, portable attachment that fits over the rim of any glass, cup, or mug, creating a personal barrier between the user's lips and the shared vessel, preventing contact with bacteria, viruses, lipstick residue, or any other contaminants that may be present on the glass rim — designed for use in hotels, restaurants, offices, parties, travel, and any situation where shared glassware is used.

Pitch Presentation

Sippline's pitch was the first of Episode 30 — opening an episode that also featured Kabaddi Adda, Shades of Spring, and Scholify with Season 1's most notoriously brief and most publicly commented-upon encounter. Rohit Warrier started the pitch by telling us how sometimes glasses get dirty and lipstick is present on the curved edges. He explained how when we go to office parties or kitty parties and order the drink, we sometimes get rims of glass that are not cleaned. Rohit found the solution to this problem by making a product under his startup. Instagram The pitch itself was clear, honest, and grounded in a real consumer behaviour (wiping glass rims with tissues before drinking). The product was demonstrated physically. The hygiene problem was real. The solution was functionally sound.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Ashneer Grover delivered Season 1's most memorable and most personally brutal product critique. Ashneer added that this is the most useless product. "Yeh jo product hai naa, isse wahiyat product maine zindagi mein naa dekha hai, naa main dekhna chahta hun. Mere ko Bhagwan utha le! Itna ganda product hai yeh. Iske baad main kuchh nahi dekhna chahta life mein. Aman Gupta exited alongside Ashneer before the pitch was completed. Namita Thapar exited on demand grounds. Namita went out because she felt there was no need or demand for the product. Vineeta Singh shared Namita's sentiment about consumer demand. Anupam Mittal exited with the most analytically precise assessment. Anupam added that this is a solution that needs a problem; therefore, he goes out of the deal as well.

Negotiation & Offers

No negotiation occurred. All five Sharks exited without making an offer.
