Entrepreneur Background

Nidhi Gupta (Co-founder & CEO) is the vision and brand custodian — the founder who identified that India's flower industry was fragmented, unorganised, and dominated by generic commodity flower vendors with no brand identity, and who built a farm-direct, subscription-first, design-forward flower business around the recognition that flowers are fundamentally a gifting and self-expression product, not a commodity. Beyond the product, Nidhi shared her vision of creating a social impact by empowering women and farmers through her flower business.

The Product / Service

Shades of Spring is India's first and largest fresh flower subscription service — sourcing 300+ varieties of seasonal flowers directly from farms, delivering them within 48–72 hours of harvest (maintaining freshness for 7+ days), through a subscription model (weekly or monthly deliveries) and on-demand bouquet service, currently operating in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad — targeting urban consumers who want fresh, farm-sourced, design-quality flowers for self-consumption (80% of customers) and gifting (20%) at an accessible ₹350 per delivery price point.

Pitch Presentation

Shades of Spring's pitch was the third of Episode 30 — arriving after Sippline's "wahiyat" dismissal and Kabaddi Adda's sports deal with India's most fragrant and visually beautiful pitch display of Season 1. The Sharks were surrounded by fresh flowers — hundreds of varieties from farm-direct sources — in an episode that had previously smelled of nothing but ambition and enterprise. The global gifting industry is ₹50 lakh crore and flowers are the main and anchor products. Shades of Spring offers 300+ varieties of fresh flowers to their consumers. Moonshinemeadery Nidhi shared her vision of creating a social impact by empowering women and farmers through her flower business.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Ashneer Grover delivered the most mathematically devastating assessment. Ashneer bluntly calculated that at current profit levels it would take 100 years for investors to recover their capital. Anupam Mittal had a unique Shaadi.com connection but exited on market size grounds. Anupam's scepticism about market size sealed the company's fate in the tank. Namita Thapar exited on scalability and growth clarity grounds. Namita's concerns about growth clarity sealed her decision not to invest. Livofy Aman Gupta and Ashneer Grover exited on valuation grounds. Two sharks are out because of this valuation. The valuation of ₹300 crores is extremely high for this business. Peyush Bansal was the sole Shark to make an offer — a structured mix of equity and zero-interest debt.

Negotiation & Offers

Peyush Bansal presented an offer of ₹50 lakh for 2.5% equity and an additional ₹25 lakh as a loan with 0% interest. Nidhi remained steadfast in her belief in Shades of Spring's potential and valuation and did not accept.
