Entrepreneur Background

Sanandan Sudhir ("Sandy") is Season 1's most credentialled deep-technology inventor-founder — an Ahmedabad entrepreneur whose background spans engineering, product innovation, and technology commercialisation, who spent years developing a genuinely novel combination cooking technology (simultaneously applying induction/flame heating from outside and microwave energy from inside), secured patents across India, the US, and the UK, won the British Invention Show Diamond Award (Best International Invention), the iF Design Award, and was the Most Celebrated Invention at CES Las Vegas 2022 before appearing on Shark Tank India — and received no investment from any Shark. Sanandan Sudhir founded On2Cook. He added that he is not just a founder but an inventor of this product.

The Product / Service

On2Cook is the world's first combination cooking device — a countertop kitchen appliance that simultaneously combines induction heating (or flame) from outside the food with microwave energy from inside the food, cooking food up to 70% faster than conventional methods, reducing energy consumption by up to 40–50%, preserving water-soluble nutrients, colour, texture, and consistency — available for domestic kitchens (AI-enabled, voice-controlled, connected cooking device) and commercial applications (cloud kitchens, restaurants, enterprise catering).

Pitch Presentation

On2Cook's pitch was the fourth and final of Episode 34 (Finale Week Day 4) closing the finale week's penultimate episode (with Episode 35 being the season finale with Woloo, Jain Shikanji, and Peyush's own special pitch) with Season 1's most technically sophisticated and most internationally awarded invention. Sandy demonstrated the cooking speed difference showing food cooked in On2Cook side-by-side with conventionally cooked food, with the timing difference visible in real time. The combination cooking result (food that was both fast-cooked AND properly browned and textured) communicated the technology's core advantage more effectively than any slide. The international awards iF Design, British Invention Show Diamond, CES Most Celebrated Invention gave the pitch credibility that far exceeded anything the revenue-less commercial stage would suggest. These are not Indian startup competitions; they are global technology evaluation platforms with hundreds of entries from the world's most sophisticated technology companies.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Vineeta Singh exited on principle she does not invest in pre-revenue startups as a stated investment policy. Vineeta was the first Shark to go out of On2Cook negotiations because as a principle, she did not invest in pre-revenue startups. Anupam Mittal gave the most psychologically perceptive assessment. Anupam felt like the founder liked the invention too much to a point where he is scared to launch it. He said that there would be some mindset and behavioural changes required which would take some time. Ashneer Grover exited on market validation grounds. Ashneer goes out citing the product is not yet market tested to confirm if it's even market fit. Peyush Bansal and Ghazal Alagh exited on founder execution attitude grounds "not a hustler" and "no clear vision of where they want to go." Aman Gupta exited citing similar reasons to the others.

Negotiation & Offers

No Shark made an offer. All exited without entering negotiation.
