Entrepreneur Background

Piyush Suri and Neetica Pande are Season 4's most design-world-credentialled luxury lifestyle founders. Their complementary expertise created the specific creative-commercial partnership that premium brands require: Piyush brings 15 plus years of product development, corporate consulting for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Marriott, experience at Accenture New York, and a stint at Cred (Indian fintech unicorn). Neetica brings world-class industrial design training from Copenhagen, with professional experience at HAY, Normann Copenhagen, and Aspekt Office, three of Scandinavia's most prestigious design studios. "Every powerful brand is a reflection of its creators, and NOOE is no exception," captures the founding philosophy: Piyush's business acumen and Neetica's design mastery merged to create a brand that could genuinely compete with global premium accessories brands while being designed and partially manufactured in India.

The Product / Service

NOOE produces premium lifestyle accessories that sit at the intersection of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian functionality. The flagship CONFIG01 Desk Setup won the Red Dot Design Award (one of the world's three most prestigious design awards, alongside iF and IDEA), validating NOOE's design quality at the highest possible international standard. The Harrods London placement is NOOE's most commercially significant brand credibility asset: being accepted into the world's most famous luxury department store (alongside Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci) demonstrates that NOOE's quality, design, and brand story meet the most exacting international luxury retail standards. However, as the Sharks discovered, the Harrods deal was prestige over profit: high shipping costs to the UK eliminated margins, making it effectively an expensive marketing investment rather than a revenue driver.

The Ask

Amount Asked: ₹50 lakhs Equity Offered: 1% Implied Pre-Money Valuation: ₹50 crore

Pitch Presentation

Piyush and Neetica walked into Season 4 Episode 3 with the most aesthetically stunning product display of the season. The Japandi-designed desk sets, laptop bags, and everyday carry accessories immediately commanded every Shark's attention. Vineeta Singh went so far as to compare NOOE's potential to Sabyasachi, one of India's most iconic luxury brands. The Harrods revelation created the pitch's most dramatic contrast: international prestige versus domestic financial reality. When Piyush disclosed that the CONFIG01 Desk Setup priced at ₹15,000 in India retailed for ₹40,000 at Harrods, Anupam was visibly astonished. But when the founders admitted that shipping costs wiped out Harrods margins, the prestige-versus-profit tension defined the rest of the pitch. The financial disclosure was sobering: only ₹22 lakhs in the bank, ₹1.2 crore in debt, ₹50 lakhs burned by September 2024, and very short runway. Aman was candid: "You have a brilliant brand, but Suri's lack of business acumen has held NOOE back from achieving its full potential."

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Anupam Mittal was impressed by the products and questioned why the founders had not asked for more investment to solve their operational challenges. Vineeta Singh compared NOOE to Sabyasachi but exited citing low gross margins (40%) and operational complexities that required more than capital to solve. Kunal Bahl exited for similar reasons, citing the need for a comprehensive business overhaul rather than just a capital injection. Aman Gupta was the most operationally critical Shark: "You have a brilliant brand, but it's clear that operational challenges need a serious overhaul." Peyush Bansal saw something the other Sharks could not look past the financials to see: a globally competitive design brand with Red Dot Award recognition, Harrods placement, 40-country distribution, and a founding team with world-class design credentials.

Negotiation & Offers

Season 4's most dramatically multi-stage negotiation. Founders asked ₹50L for 1% (₹50 crore valuation). Three Sharks exited (Anupam, Vineeta, Kunal). Aman offered ₹3 crore for 50%, then ₹2 crore for 30%. Peyush offered ₹3 crore for 51%. The founders made the boldest counter in Shark Tank India history: they asked Peyush to increase his own offer to ₹5 crore for 51%. Peyush accepted. Aman withdrew. Final deal: ₹5 crore for 51% from Peyush Bansal at ₹9.8 crore valuation. The founders traded majority control for the largest investment in Shark Tank India history, calculating that 49% of a Peyush-Bansal-backed ₹100 crore brand was worth more than 99% of a ₹50 crore brand they could not fund.

Final Verdict

Piyush Suri and Neetica Pande accepted Peyush Bansal's offer of ₹5 crore for 51% equity, valuing NOOE at ₹9.8 crore. The deal gave Peyush majority control and the founders minority ownership of their own brand, a sacrifice that only founders with absolute conviction in their investor's ability to scale would accept. Peyush's Lenskart experience in building a globally recognised Indian consumer brand from premium design excellence (optical frames, sunglasses) directly mirrors NOOE's journey of building a globally recognised Indian lifestyle brand from premium design excellence (desk accessories, everyday carry).

Beyond Shark Tank

Our research on NOOE revealed that while the company did get a deal on Shark Tank India, whether that deal closed after the show is still not clear. Early signs however show that the deal negotiations are going well post-show and it may be closer to being finalised. NOOE experienced a 200% surge in online traffic and order value immediately after the episode aired, demonstrating the Shark Tank visibility effect at its most commercially impactful for a premium lifestyle brand. The brand continues selling through its website, Amazon, and international retail channels across 40 plus countries. Piyush Suri reflected on the experience with characteristic design-founder eloquence: "My biggest learning from the Shark Tank India experience has been watching how the team behind the show operates. That entire machinery is a masterclass in running a creative production at scale. As a consumer brand founder and a creative entrepreneur, it was incredible to see how they think about every detail, the narrative, the granularity, and how they produce something that millions of people love."
