Entrepreneur Background

Nidhi is Season 3's most technically sophisticated AI founder. A Delhi Technological University graduate (Electronics and Communication Engineering, 2018), she worked as Team Lead at Accenture Labs developing applications across banking, finance, and healthcare using NLP, Computer Vision, TensorFlow, Keras, and deep learning models. Her specialisation in cross-modality transformer algorithms and optical character recognition gave her the specific AI architecture expertise needed to build a brain-pattern-to-learning-recommendation system. The founding mission was born from observing how neurodiverse children (those with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome) were systematically failed by India's one-size-fits-all education system.

The Product / Service

NEMA AI is India's first platform that uses EEG (Electroencephalogram) brain scanning technology combined with artificial intelligence to provide non-invasive cognitive assessments and personalised learning pathways. Students wear an EEG headset for 5 minutes while the NEMA AI system captures their brain's electrical activity patterns. The AI processes these patterns to generate a comprehensive cognitive profile covering memory strength, attention span, processing speed, problem-solving capability, and learning style preferences. Based on these insights, NEMA AI generates personalised recommendations: either cognitive enhancement exercises (for students with specific learning challenges) or optimised learning curricula (matching teaching methods to each student's cognitive strengths). Students are divided into 6 learning categories based on their cognitive profiles, enabling teachers to deliver targeted instruction rather than generic classroom teaching.

Pitch Presentation

Nidhi walked into Season 3 Episode 41 as the episode's most technically complex AI pitch. The demonstration was the pitch's most memorable moment: Anupam Mittal wore the EEG headset on stage, and NEMA AI's system scanned his brain patterns in real time, generating a cognitive profile of India's most prominent digital platform entrepreneur on national television. The YouTube title captured the moment perfectly: "Kya Nema AI ke Scan mein Shark Anupam honge Pass?" ("Will Shark Anupam pass NEMA AI's scan?") The pitch explained how the platform works: a 5-minute EEG scan captures brain wave patterns, the AI analyses these patterns against trained models, and the system generates a personalised cognitive report with learning recommendations. The technology's application for neurodiverse children (who are often misunderstood, underserved, and incorrectly labelled as "slow learners") was the pitch's most socially significant dimension.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Anupam Mittal was the first to exit, stating the founder "did not understand how to build a tech business." Aman Gupta exited citing the product was "not market fit." He emphasised that demand for such specialised assessments might be too narrow for venture-scale returns and suggested proving product-market fit before seeking investment. Ritesh Agarwal exited because the founder's business model was unclear. Vineeta Singh saw value in the personalised education approach for neurodiverse individuals. She recognised the technology's potential social impact and offered ₹40 lakhs for 8% equity plus ₹40 lakhs debt at 10% for 3 years. She invited Namita to join. Namita Thapar found the technology intriguing from a healthcare perspective.

Negotiation & Offers

Nidhi asked ₹80 lakhs for 5% equity (₹16 crore valuation). Three Sharks exited (Anupam, Aman, Ritesh). Vineeta offered ₹40 lakhs for 8% equity plus ₹40 lakhs debt at 10% for 3 years (₹5 crore valuation). Namita asked to join Vineeta's deal, which Vineeta accepted. The founder accepted the combined offer without hesitation, taking a 69% valuation markdown (₹16 crore to ₹5 crore) and 60% higher equity dilution (5% to 8%) in exchange for Vineeta's consumer brand scaling and Namita's healthcare clinical validation expertise.

Final Verdict

Nidhi accepted the two-Shark deal from Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar at ₹40 lakhs for 8% equity plus ₹40 lakhs debt at 10% interest for 3 years, valuing NEMA AI at ₹5 crore. Post-show, the deal expanded: Anupam Mittal (who had initially exited on the show) and Rahul Dua subsequently joined the investment, making it effectively a 4-Shark/investor deal. Nidhi celebrated on LinkedIn: "NEMA AI got 4 sharks deal. Thank you Anupam Mittal and Rahul Dua for pitching in to invest in NEMA AI!"

Beyond Shark Tank

Our research in the company revealed that while they did get the deal on Shark Tank India, whether that deal has closed after the show is still unclear. The company has also been granted a US Patent for their product and will possibly expand internationally. NEMA AI continues building post-Shark Tank with expanding institutional backing. The company has been backed by iCreate, IIT Mandi Catalyst, NetApp, NSRCEL (IIM Bangalore), NASSCOM, AssisTech Foundation, Schaeffler, Buddy4Study, and PedalStart, creating one of the most institutionally validated support ecosystems of any Season 3 EdTech startup. NEMA AI won the Emerging Business Award as part of NSRCEL Cohort 4 at IIM Bangalore, recognised among the top 10% of 250 startups being incubated for impact and innovation. The US Patent (US11600088B2) provides international IP protection, enabling potential expansion to global markets where neuroscience-based EdTech is growing rapidly.
