Entrepreneur Background
Kamlesh Nanasaheb Ghumare — known to all of India as "Jugadu Kamlesh" — is Season 1's most completely self-made and most emotionally impactful founder: a farmer's son from the village of Tarapada, 20 kilometres from Malegaon in Maharashtra, who dropped out of a BCA programme in his second year to follow his passion for agricultural innovation, spent seven years building a multipurpose agricultural bicycle from scrapyard parts with zero formal engineering education, zero funding, and zero institutional support — purely because he watched his father's back break under the weight of a 20-litre pesticide tank and refused to accept that this was the unavoidable fate of Indian farmers. Kamlesh Nanasaheb Ghumare completed his schooling at NS Deshmukh Vidyalaya in Malegaon. He pursued a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) at Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad College, Malegaon. Naru — Kamlesh's friend and close associate accompanied him to the pitch.
The Product / Service
KG Agrotech's flagship product is a multipurpose agricultural bicycle — a pedal-powered (later electric) trolley device that simultaneously performs three functions critical to small-scale Indian farming: pesticide spraying, seed sowing, and luggage carrying — built from scrapyard components using "jugaad" (frugal innovation) principles, designed specifically for India's small and marginal farmers who cannot afford conventional motorised agricultural equipment, and priced at ₹12,000 consumer target (against ₹40,000–50,000 prototype manufacturing cost at pitch time).
The Ask
Amount Asked: ₹30 lakhs Equity Offered: 10% Implied Pre-Money Valuation: ₹3 crore
Pitch Presentation
KG Agrotech's pitch was the second of Episode 24 — arriving after The Sass Bar's dessert-soap visual delight with something entirely different: a farmer from Malegaon in his village clothes, carrying a bicycle prototype assembled from scrapyard parts, accompanied by his friend Naru, speaking with the directness and emotional honesty of someone who had never learned to perform for an audience because he had never needed to. Kamlesh came on Shark Tank with his multipurpose bicycle that does seeding, spraying, and luggage carrying. This prototype model saves the time of farmers. KG Agrotech had made it from his home and is made with simple technology and desi jugaad. Kamlesh put his words to the Sharks that if anyone will get a similar product, he would leave the product. Kamlesh said that if any Shark will support him, he would set a benchmark in the market.
Sharks' Reactions & Criticism
All Sharks were visibly moved by Kamlesh's story and impressed by his invention. The obstacle was not the product or the founder — it was the commercial stage (prototype with no manufacturing capability) and the Sharks' individual assessments of whether they could add value. Anupam Mittal was the first to exit — on commercial stability grounds. Anupam was the first to share his opinion and said that he didn't find the business stable in the market and went out. Vineeta Singh suggested an alternative funding route. Vineeta asked him to go for crowdfunding rather than giving his equity and went out. Ghazal Alagh appreciated the work but acknowledged her limitations in adding value to agricultural hardware. Ghazal appreciated Kamlesh's work and said she also couldn't add value to the company and turned it down. Namita Thapar similarly recommended crowdfunding and promised to help him access it. Namita also suggested he should go for crowdfunding and promised to help him get it.

There was no competitive negotiation — Peyush was the sole Shark to make an offer. The offer: ₹10 lakhs for 40% equity and ₹20 lakhs at 0% interest as a loan.
