Entrepreneur Background

Arvind Sivdas (Co-founder) is the platform's technological and strategic backbone — the IIT Madras graduate whose sports passion converted into platform-building capability, combining digital media expertise with deep knowledge of Kabaddi's grassroots community structure. Suhail Chandhok (Co-founder) is the most publicly credentialled sports media professional in Season 1's entire founding team roster — a Pro Kabaddi League presenter and commentator since the league's inception in 2014, with established relationships across Kabaddi's entire professional ecosystem (franchises, players, management, media).

The Product / Service

Kabaddi Adda is India's only all-in-one Kabaddi digital platform — combining a content and media distribution platform (live scores, match coverage, player interviews, news), a "Tournament in a Box" service (enabling grassroots organisations to host and telecast local Kabaddi matches), and India's most comprehensive Kabaddi player database (6,500–7,000 players with detailed performance statistics, auction histories, and form data) — with its own owned-and-operated K7 Tournament that scouted 20 players into the Pro Kabaddi League in its first season, and a dedicated women's Kabaddi programme ("Mahela Mondays").

The Ask

Amount Asked: ₹80 lakhs Equity Offered: 1% Implied Pre-Money Valuation: ₹80 crore

Pitch Presentation

Kabaddi Adda's pitch was the second of Episode 30 — arriving after Sippline's notorious "wahiyat" no-deal with something entirely different: passion, professionalism, and a sports platform for India's second most-watched sport that every viewer had heard of but no one had built a comprehensive digital platform for. Kabaddi Adda caters to the popularity of Kabaddi in India by providing live scores, news, and auction services for Kabaddi matches, offering updates on players from every state. The pitch's most personally powerful moment was Vineeta's recognition of Arvind — her IIT Madras batchmate, the most sports-enthusiastic person she had ever known, whose wife had won gold at Inter-IIT badminton as Vineeta's doubles partner. This personal relationship context transformed the standard Shark-founder dynamic into something more humanly complete: an investor funding a friend's life mission.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Anupam Mittal made the pitch's most pointed criticism — that the ₹80 crore valuation implied by the 1% equity ask was incompatible with genuine Shark Tank investment intent. Anupam battered them, accusing them of being on the show only for publicity. Vineeta Singh was immediately and personally engaged — recognising Arvind from IIT Madras and bringing genuine sports enthusiasm to the evaluation. Her personal relationship with the founder gave her the conviction to invest despite the valuation debate. Namita Thapar — whose Emcure Pharmaceuticals operated in 70 countries and whose experience with grassroots community building gave her a framework for evaluating Kabaddi's potential — was the second investing Shark. Ashneer Grover and Aman Gupta exited without investing.

Negotiation & Offers

Namita Thapar expressed interest and made a counter offer of ₹80 lakhs for 5% equity. After negotiation, Kabaddi Adda raised ₹80 lakhs for 6% equity from Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh.
