Entrepreneur Background

HoneyTwigs was founded by Jigar Mehta and Paras Fatnani, who were later joined by Praful Dwivedi as a co-founder. Jigar and Paras met while studying at the University of Westminster, London, where they first developed the idea of making honey more convenient to consume. They noticed that although honey is widely recognized as a healthy alternative to sugar, many people avoid carrying or consuming it regularly because traditional bottles are messy and inconvenient. To solve this everyday problem, they launched HoneyTwigs in 2015, introducing single-serve honey sticks that make honey portable and easy to consume anywhere. Over the years, the founders expanded the brand beyond plain honey into infused honey variants and wellness-focused products. By the time they appeared on Shark Tank India, HoneyTwigs had established a presence across India and exported products to nine countries, serving both retail customers and institutional clients such as hotels, cafés, and airlines.

The Product / Service

HoneyTwigs is a premium honey and wellness brand specializing in single-serve honey sticks designed for convenient, mess-free consumption. Unlike conventional honey sold in bottles, HoneyTwigs packages pure and infused honey into slim portable sachets ("twigs") that can be consumed directly or added to tea, coffee, desserts, cereals, smoothies, or breakfast meals. The company offers natural honey as well as infused variants such as ginger, lemon, turmeric, and cinnamon. Besides individual consumers, HoneyTwigs supplies hotels, cafés, airlines, corporate offices, and restaurants through its B2B channel. The founders positioned the company as a lifestyle wellness brand rather than a traditional honey manufacturer, emphasizing convenience, premium packaging, portability, and healthy alternatives to refined sugar.

Pitch Presentation

The founders delivered an energetic pitch by highlighting a simple yet powerful insight although honey is considered healthy, most consumers find it inconvenient to carry and consume regularly. They demonstrated their single-serve HoneyTwigs and explained how the packaging eliminates mess while encouraging everyday consumption. The Sharks sampled the products and appreciated both the taste and convenience. The founders shared that HoneyTwigs had grown into an international brand with exports to nine countries and strong B2B partnerships with premium hospitality brands, including Taj Hotels, Oberoi Hotels, Starbucks, and several airlines. They also revealed annual revenue of approximately ₹4 crore while maintaining healthy gross margins. Their diversified distribution strategy covering D2C, modern retail, quick commerce, e-commerce, exports, and institutional sales impressed the panel. The pitch successfully positioned HoneyTwigs as a premium packaged-food brand rather than a commodity honey business, leading to considerable interest from multiple Sharks.

Anupam was impressed by the founders' execution, international expansion, and diversified revenue streams. He appreciated that the company had successfully transformed a commodity product into a branded premium offering and believed the founders had demonstrated excellent business execution. Peyush appreciated the simplicity of the product and the founders' operational capabilities. Ritesh immediately recognized the value of HoneyTwigs' hospitality business. He explained that through OYO and the broader hotel industry, he could help place HoneyTwigs in thousands of hotel rooms across India.

Negotiation & Offers

HoneyTwigs witnessed one of the most competitive negotiations of Season 3. Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh initially partnered to make a joint offer, believing the founders could build a strong consumer wellness brand. Shortly afterward, Anupam Mittal and Ritesh Agarwal entered the discussion with what they described as a "dream deal," matching the founders' original ask of ₹75 lakhs for 3% equity. Peyush Bansal then joined Anupam and Ritesh, creating a three-Shark consortium. Ritesh highlighted the enormous opportunity to distribute HoneyTwigs across hotels through his hospitality network, while Anupam and Peyush emphasized brand building and consumer scaling. The founders found this combination strategically stronger and accepted the three-Shark offer, securing exactly the investment and valuation they had originally requested.

Final Verdict

HoneyTwigs successfully secured funding on Shark Tank India. The founders entered the Tank seeking ₹75 lakhs for 3% equity, valuing the company at ₹25 crore. After receiving competing offers, they accepted a joint investment from Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, and Ritesh Agarwal, who collectively invested ₹75 lakhs for 3% equity, matching the founders' original ask exactly. The founders chose this consortium because of the complementary expertise each Shark brought in consumer branding, technology-led scaling, and hospitality distribution. The deal was one of the few "dream deals" of Season 3, where the entrepreneurs secured funding on their original terms.

Beyond Shark Tank

Following Shark Tank India, HoneyTwigs experienced a significant increase in website traffic, retail inquiries, and consumer awareness. The founders reported overwhelming demand in the days after the episode aired, with strong growth across online and offline channels. The company continued expanding internationally and strengthened its presence on quick-commerce platforms, e-commerce marketplaces, hotels, cafés, and corporate channels. HoneyTwigs also became part of Inc42's D2CX growth program, further supporting its expansion as a premium wellness and honey brand.
