Entrepreneur Background

Himanshu Goel and George Tharian are Season 3's most MICA Ahmedabad-bonded creative technology founders. Both completed their MBA in Marketing from Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA), Ahmedabad, one of India's most prestigious advertising and communication schools, where they met and bonded over a shared fascination with the emerging global virtual influencer phenomenon. Himanshu's IT engineering background from Punjab University combined with his MICA marketing education gave him the specific technology-plus-branding capability that virtual influencer creation demands: understanding both the CGI production pipeline and the brand narrative storytelling that makes digital characters engaging. George's CEO role focuses on business development, brand partnerships, and strategic vision.

The Product / Service

FUTR Studios creates virtual humans using CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) and AI technology for brand marketing, entertainment, and digital experiences. The flagship creation, Kyra, is a fully digital persona who creates content, engages with followers, collaborates with brands, and appears on magazine covers, all without being a real person. Kyra's content spans fashion, fitness, and lifestyle, targeting the same young urban demographic that human influencers serve. The commercial value proposition for brands is specific: virtual influencers eliminate the risks of human influencers (controversies, scheduling conflicts, aging, inconsistency, exclusivity disputes) while providing complete brand control (Kyra's appearance, behaviour, and messaging can be precisely calibrated for each campaign).

Pitch Presentation

Himanshu and George walked into Season 3 Episode 47 as the episode's most futuristically positioned founders. They opened by introducing Kyra to the Sharks: showing her Instagram profile, brand campaigns, magazine covers, and hologram appearances. The visual quality of Kyra's content genuinely impressed the panel; she looked indistinguishable from a real influencer in most photographs. The founders explained the virtual influencer model: brands pay FUTR Studios to create content featuring Kyra, who promotes their products across social media. The boAt campaign case study (₹16.5 lakhs revenue for one ad) demonstrated the commercial model's viability.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Namita Thapar was the first to exit, calling FUTR Studios a "trading agency" rather than a technology company. Aman Gupta exited because he saw no innovation or continuous source of creativity that would guarantee long-term recognition. Vineeta Singh exited because the company was at too early a stage with unclear direction. Deepinder Goyal (guest Shark) delivered the most reductionist critique: the company was "only an Instagram handle." Anupam Mittal exited because the founders failed to crystallise their vision.

Negotiation & Offers

No Shark made a formal offer. All five exited before entering negotiation. The unanimous concerns about undeveloped virtual personality, lack of tech co-founder, "trading agency" characterisation, insufficient innovation, unclear direction, and the ₹40 crore valuation on ₹46 lakhs half-year revenue prevented any Shark from constructing an investment thesis for India's first virtual human company.

Final Verdict

Himanshu Goel and George Tharian left Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 47 without any investment. All five Sharks declined, each citing specific concerns about character depth, technological defensibility, creative sustainability, and business model clarity. India's first virtual influencer company left the Tank without a deal because the Sharks evaluated it as a content production agency rather than the technology company the founders believed they were building.

Beyond Shark Tank

Our research on FUTR Studios revealed that while they did not get a deal on Shark Tank, their appearance would overall have a positive impact on the future of the company. FUTR Studios continued its journey post-Shark Tank with notable achievements. Kyra was awarded NDTV WhosThat360 AI Content Creator of the Year 2023, validating her position as India's most recognised virtual influencer. New brand campaigns launched with Comet Shoes (over 1 lakh views on Instagram), Titan EyeX 2.0 (750,000 plus views in 3 days), and continued partnerships with major Indian brands. The company raised $157K from 100X.VC and Astir Ventures, providing the capital that the Shark Tank appearance could not secure. The hologram capability expanded with Kyra presented as a life-sized hologram at multiple phygital events, generating crowd reactions and demonstrating the commercial viability of virtual-to-physical activations.
