Entrepreneur Background
Naveed Anjum Munshi and Pramod Tirlapur are Season 2's most category-creation-from-observation founders two Bengaluru friends who noticed a hygiene problem that hundreds of millions of Indians were experiencing daily without ever consciously identifying it. The ice in restaurant drinks, the ice sold at roadside vendors, the ice used at food stalls and events all of it made from unfiltered, untreated, hygienically unverified water, consumed by customers who had no awareness that the ice could be the most contaminated element in their supposedly safe beverage.
The Product / Service
Dr Cubes is India's first branded hygienic ice company manufacturing and delivering RO-purified, food-safety-certified ice in multiple formats (cube, gourmet, crushed, infused, artisan, block, dry ice) directly to restaurants, hotels, caterers, event organisers, quick commerce platforms, and individual consumers creating the branded hygienic ice category in India in the same way Bisleri and Kinley created the branded bottled water category.

Pitch Presentation
Naveed and Pramod walked into Season 2 Episode 42 with India's most deceptively simple product pitch ice and made the Sharks realise, possibly for the first time, that the ice in their restaurant drinks was made from the same unfiltered water that public health authorities consistently cited as a major source of food contamination. The pitch opened with the hygiene problem: most ice in India is produced in unregulated conditions using unfiltered water, then transported and stored without temperature control or contamination protection. The same consumer who carefully buys only bottled water drinks cocktails and cold beverages containing ice made from municipal tap water the contamination source they were trying to avoid by buying bottled water in the first place.
Sharks' Reactions & Criticism
Peyush Bansal was the most genuinely impressed Shark his "never seen anyone build a business out of ice cubes like this before" quote, later used by Dr Cubes on their own website as an endorsement, communicates authentic category-creation respect. Aman Gupta exited on copycat risk and scalability grounds the hygienic ice category, once proven commercially viable by Dr Cubes, could be replicated by existing packaged beverage companies Namita Thapar exited on domain expertise grounds pharmaceutical distribution networks do not overlap with hyperlocal food service ice distribution. Anupam Mittal exited on category investment risk the same copycat concern that Aman had raised, combined with the hyperlocal distribution model's inherent geographic scaling limitation. Amit Jain exited on personal interest grounds automotive finance and hygienic ice distribution have no commercial overlap.
Negotiation & Offers
No Shark made a formal offer. All five exited before entering negotiation. The copycat risk concern that the hygienic ice category's commercial viability, once proven by Dr Cubes, would attract well-funded FMCG competitors with existing distribution was the single most commercially persuasive reason for unanimous exit. The ₹5.33 crore implied valuation for a Bengaluru-only hyperlocal distribution business was actually reasonable relative to its revenue and margins, but the scalability ceiling created by geography and competition prevented any Shark from seeing an exit pathway.
Final Verdict
Naveed Anjum Munshi and Pramod Tirlapur left Shark Tank India Season 2 Episode 42 without any investment. All five Sharks acknowledged the category innovation Peyush's publicly quoted endorsement ("never seen anyone build a business out of ice cubes like this before") is Season 2's strongest individual Shark product praise from a non-investing Shark but declined to invest citing the copycat vulnerability from larger FMCG players and the hyperlocal scalability ceiling.
