Devang Singhania (CEO) is the operations and entrepreneurship specialist. He did his graduation from Babson College in Operations and Entrepreneurship. He also manages his family's tea estates in Kolkata. Shachi Singhania (Co-founder) leads branding, design, and creative strategy. Shachi Singhania is a Babson College graduate, with 4 years of experience as Creative Head in Greenply Industries. Bollywood Actress Vaani Kapoor did an advertisement for them in 2021 — securing a Bollywood celebrity brand ambassador before appearing on Shark Tank India demonstrated that the brand had already achieved a level of visibility and commercial credibility that most pre-investment startups cannot access.

Beyond Water is India's first liquid water enhancer — a compact, portable squeeze bottle of concentrated flavoured liquid that, when added to plain water (or soda, tea, or coffee), transforms it into a sugar-free, vitamin-enriched, naturally flavoured beverage — positioning itself as the healthy, customisable alternative to packaged juices, soft drinks, and flavoured waters. Beyond Water makes India's first liquid water enhancers. The product can be used with water, soda, tea, and coffee. This will add flavour to the drink and ultimately encourage the consumer to stay hydrated. One of their USPs is that they use all-natural stevia instead of sugar to sweeten the drinks. One bottle of Beyond Water can be used for 24 servings.

Pitch Presentation

The pitch started with the information that humans need 3–4 litres of water per day to drink. But people forget to drink water. And people keep drinking soda, aerated water, juices, etc. which is unhealthy. The opening was a classic category-creation argument: the existing alternatives (soft drinks, packaged juices) are unhealthy; plain water alone is insufficient to drive adequate hydration; Beyond Water is the bridge between these two unsatisfactory options. The product demonstration was the pitch's strongest moment. Each Shark received a bottle, squeezed a few drops into water, and tasted the result. Sharks liked the taste — lemon, mango peach, ginger lime (with electrolytes) and orange flavour.

Sharks' Reactions & Criticism

Ashneer Grover exited quickly and dismissively. During the Shark Tank India pitch, Ashneer decided to opt out of the deal, considering the product a gimmick. Ashneer and Peyush were concerned about the high MRP, so they went out early. Peyush Bansal exited on price grounds — the ₹300 bottle price, while economical on a per-serving basis, is a relatively high upfront purchase commitment for Indian consumers unfamiliar with the category. Anupam Mittal engaged substantively and appeared to be moving toward an offer. Anupam expressed interest in making an offer, prompting Namita and Aman to adjust their proposal. Namita Thapar was the most strategically aligned investor in the room. As Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, she understood the nutritional supplementation category deeply — vitamins, electrolytes, and natural bioactive compounds are core to Emcure's pharmaceutical portfolio.

Negotiation & Offers

Namita recognised the market potential and made the first offer along with Aman — ₹50 lakhs for 20% equity and ₹25 lakhs as debt at 12% interest, resulting in a valuation of ₹2.5 crore. Anupam expressed interest, prompting Namita and Aman to adjust their proposal to ₹75 lakhs for 20% equity, urging the entrepreneurs to accept immediately. Devang countered with ₹75 lakhs for 10% equity, which Aman declined. Anupam withdrew citing interruptions from Namita and Aman. The deal was eventually closed at ₹75 lakhs for 15% equity.
